Telent raises £77,000 for Mind charity at 2024 annual golf day

Telent’s annual charity golf day is now in its 19th year, demonstrating the company’s longstanding commitment to supporting important causes. This year’s event raised an incredible £77,000 for the mental health charity Mind, thanks to the generosity of Telent’s partners, customers and colleagues.

The annual event was hosted at the Stratford-on-Avon Golf Club where participants enjoyed a fun, action-packed day on the course. Representatives from Mind were present, emphasising the charity’s mission in providing advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem.

Steve Dalton, Managing Director of Transport at Telent

“It’s truly inspiring to see how our community comes together for such an important cause. The generosity shown by everyone involved is testament to Telent and our partners’ commitment to improving our communities. This year’s success is not just about the money raised, but the awareness and support we’re providing for mental health issues.”

On the 10th hole, the 19 participating golf teams gathered to enjoy a glass of champagne, while participating in a series of activities, including tombola, and a “Hole in one” contest with an Audi A4 saloon car as the coveted prize, but ultimately, no one was successful in taking the grand prize home.

In the evening, Mind representatives gave an insightful talk, sharing how the funds raised are used to support those in need. After enjoying a delicious meal, guest speakers Kyran Bracken, former England Rugby International player, and Zinzan Brooke, former All Blacks International player, took the stage to share some of their personal experiences both on and off the field, followed by a lively Q&A session. Participants were then treated to an impressive performance of the Haka by Zinzan!

The auction quickly gained momentum, and with the generosity of the bidders, Telent managed to raise an incredible amount of money. A huge thank you goes out to our partners, who donated or provided amazing prizes for the event.

Brendan McNicholas, Managing Director at BML Utility Contractors Limited

“Another great Telent Charity Golf day, good atmosphere, good company, good golf. It gives us all the opportunity to catch up with old friends and make new ones, whilst raising much needed funds for a truly worthwhile cause. Well done to all those involved in organising this event. I have had the pleasure of taking part over many years, I very much look forward to the next one.”

Andrew Berrie, Head of Corporate Partnerships at Mind

“We are incredibly grateful to Telent and everyone who took part in the golf day. Events like these not only bring people together and highlight the importance of community, but also raise vital funds to ensure Mind can continue being there for the people who need us most. This donation will help keep our services running, including Mind’s helplines and our online peer support community Side by Side.”

This year’s annual charity golf day was another great success, and Telent looks forward to continuing its support for Mind and other vital causes in the future.
