Wi-Fi Networks

Nearly half a million people access Wi-Fi services managed by Telent every month at some of the UK's busiest mainline stations. Telent was chosen by Network Rail to design and install the Wi-Fi network at 19 stations, including London Waterloo, Reading, Leeds, Edinburgh Waverley, Manchester Piccadilly, and Birmingham New Street. The service uses Wi-Fi 6 technology, offering faster download speeds than many home broadband services.

Ahead of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, Telent delivered high-density public Wi-Fi to four stadiums; Durham, Trent Bridge, in Nottinghamshire, the Bristol County Ground in and Old Trafford. The project saw Telent complete the design and deployment of cabling, switches and access points for the Sky Wi-Fi solution, following an agreement between Sky UK with the English and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). The solution provided fans the ability to share every moment, whether it be by live streaming on social media or downloading matchday-related content, a seamless user experience is a top priority for the ECB.

More than 30,000 students and staff at the University of Bristol will soon have access to a new and improved Wi-Fi experience thanks to a major new wireless network project that will be delivered by Telent. It will be one of the largest education networks outside of North America, with the capacity to support over 300,000 devices.
