Telent named on CDP A List for Supplier Engagement and Emissions Leadership

Recognition from CDP highlights Telent’s commitment to delivering value for money to customers by reducing supply chain emissions, engaging suppliers in climate action, and embedding carbon reduction into procurement decisions

CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project) runs the leading environmental disclosure system. Their Supplier Engagement Assessment evaluates how effectively businesses are managing the emissions generated in their supply chain and how they are working with suppliers to address climate-related risks and opportunities.

In 2024, CDP assessed over 23,000 companies globally on behalf of investors, customers and regulators. Only around 2% achieved a place on the SEA A List, placing Telent in the top tier of global organisations taking meaningful climate action beyond their own operations.

This achievement reflects the strength of our approach to climate governance, supplier engagement and data transparency. With almost 80% of our total emissions generated within our supply chain, tackling these emissions is challenging but essential not only to meet our environmental goals, but also to deliver long-term value for our customers and the communities we serve.

Over a third of Telent’s supplier spend is now with organisations that have disclosed emissions data and committed to carbon reduction targets. We are also working closely with our micro, small and medium-sized enterprise (MSME) suppliers to improve data quality and reporting coverage across the supply chain, providing practical tools, guidance, and encouragement to help them begin or progress their own carbon reduction journeys.

A key part of this progress has been the development of our Design Carbon Assessment Tool (DCAT), which helps project teams assess the embodied carbon impact of materials and design choices early in the planning process. DCAT is now being used to inform tenders, supplier proposals, and customer project designs, enabling us to reduce carbon impacts while maintaining cost-effectiveness, resilience and performance.

Being included on CDP’s SEA A List reinforces our commitment to transparency, action, and long-term value creation, ensuring we continue to meet the expectations of our customers and contribute to a more sustainable future.

This recognition is a proud moment for Telent. It reflects not only the work we’ve done to reduce our own emissions but also our commitment to engaging our suppliers and supporting them on their own journeys. It’s about ensuring we make informed, low-carbon choices that deliver real value – for our customers, our stakeholders, and the environment

Supporting Broader Carbon Reduction Across Our Operations

Telent’s supply chain engagement is part of our wider programme to cut emissions and operate more sustainably. Since our baseline year, we’ve achieved a 38% reduction in emissions, with a clear trajectory in place to reach 55% by 2030.

This progress includes the transition to electric vehicles across key parts of our fleet, the integration of carbon reduction requirements into supplier contracts, and the procurement of renewable electricity.

This is a strong endorsement of our joined-up approach, combining operational action, supplier engagement and better data to make a real impact. We’re proud of the progress so far and focused on continuing to improve year on year
