Telent, part of M Group, is delighted to announce that it has been shortlisted for a Highways UK Excellence Award for the ‘Collaborative Delivery of Digital Technology Services across the Strategic Road Network'.
As part of M Group, Telent combines specialist technical capability with the scale, reach and resources of one of the UK's leading infrastructure services businesses.
The nomination recognises the collaborative approach developed by Telent with National Highways to deliver the National Roads Telecommunications Service (NRTS), the communications backbone that supports safety-critical technology across England's Strategic Road Network.
Since 2017, the partnership has focused on enabling complex upgrades and operational changes to be delivered safely and efficiently, while maintaining the availability and resilience of key roadside systems. Through early engagement, shared planning and close collaboration with stakeholders, the programme has helped improve network performance, minimise disruption and support safer journeys for road users.
The shortlist is recognition of the strong partnership between Telent, National Highways and the wider supply chain, and the commitment of everyone involved to delivering better outcomes for customers and road users.
Beyond the NRTS programme, the collaborative delivery model is now being used across a range of National Highways initiatives, including corporate WAN services, innovation projects and major operational change programmes. Its success demonstrates how early engagement, shared ownership and integrated planning can provide a scalable blueprint for delivering complex change across the highways sector.
