Mentoring the next generation

Lee Watson, Engineering Manager in Rail has been shortlisted in the ‘Mentor of the Year’ category, which recognises individuals who are making a positive impact on the development of an individual or group. Lee acts not only as mentor to his engineering team but has worked tirelessly to align Telent’s mentorship process with the Institute of Engineering and Technology to create a portfolio of evidence that supports many under his mentorship and that is enabling them to deliver more challenging assignments for both Telent and Rail.

"

I’m fortunate to work in a really great team in Rail Engineering with the highest levels of skill and professionalism on show daily throughout the team. I was pleasantly surprised to learn I’d been nominated for this award and knowing that colleagues took the time to write a nomination in the first place is very humbling and appreciated. It’s even more amazing to have been shortlisted!
