Warwick, U.K, 14th January 2021 – Telent will hit 30 years of helping West Sussex’s traffic flow freely following the critical infrastructure maintenance firm winning a contract extension from the county council. The new contract will last for 5 years from October 2021 and builds upon a strong partnership first established in 1994.

West Sussex County council use Telent’s own CCTV-enabled Remote Monitoring System (RMS), which enables the remote monitoring of traffic signals to reduce the time equipment is out of action and speeds up repair and maintenance time. RMS is installed at 248 sites in West Sussex.
RMS reduces delays to the public as traffic signal site faults are reported automatically and can sometimes even be dealt with remotely, depending on the nature of the fault. The system, designed by experienced traffic control engineers and used by more than 20 local authorities right across the UK, is simple to use and has an interface accessible via a smartphone or laptop.
This extension with West Sussex County Council follows another recent successful contract renewal with Kent County Council.
