Telent shines a light on new and emerging technologies at BAPCO 2022
Telent will be attending this year’s British Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (BAPCO) Annual Exhibition and Conference, and Telent CTO Gerard Donohue will deliver a presentation on the new and emerging technologies that will impact the critical communication networks of the future. BAPCO will take place at Coventry Building Society Arena on 8-9 March.
As the role of communications networks evolves to become the key enabler for the “everything as a service” or cloud-based model so too does the way that network services are delivered. Therefore, emergency services organisations must have the infrastructure in place to mitigate the increased number of cybersecurity threats that this presents. Gerard’s presentation on 9 March at 1.30pm will highlight the key and emerging technology trends and break down the acronyms and jargon. More importantly, it will explore what this means in simple terms for critical communications networks, and the IT infrastructure and operations of emergency services organisations.
“As the sector prepares for the transition to ESN, many technologies and services will be impacted, and fleet managers must plan accordingly for the transition to ensure an efficient move to ESN for their organisations,” Telent CTO Gerard Donohue said. “As applications and services become increasingly cloud based, the role of critical communications networks have had to adapt in line with the accelerated technology change.”
Gerard added: “Our presentation at BAPCO will help break down how flexible and dynamic organisations can address this and reap the benefits that the latest IT innovations have to offer. We will also explore the potential challenges associated with the implementation, management and user adoption of new technologies.”
During the show, Telent will be delving into key themes including Emergency Services Network (ESN) transition and vehicle services, ICT managed services, Station End solutions and control room services. Telent is a trusted ICT partner for its emergency services customers and has the necessary technical services capability that is available UK wide. Its mission-critical networking expertise across multiple networking technologies and different applications are underpinned by strategic relationships with industry leading equipment manufacturers.
