Telent selected by IBM to play a key role with User Services in the deployment of the Emergency Services Network

IBM has appointed Telent to be responsible for the on-boarding of User Organisations to the new Network which will support more than 300,000 emergency responders. Working as part of a wider IBM-led eco-system of suppliers, Telent’s initial focus will be performing readiness assessments of the IT and communication infrastructure in place with each user organisation. These assessments will identify and advise on any changes, upgrades or approvals required to support the transition to ESN.

Deployment of Devices

Beginning in September 2025, Telent will deploy more than 16,500 Sepura SCL3 hand-portable devices across NHS Ambulance Trusts. Telent addresses this challenge with a dual SIM router solution that replaces legacy Paknet and PSTN bearers.
