Fireground Radio

Improving critical voice communication for the incident ground

Improve firefighter safety with critical voice communications

Fireground radios are a critical communication tool for emergency services, enabling clear, reliable voice communications between firefighters and incident commanders during live incidents.

Telent supplies, installs and maintains a digital fireground radio solution from Tait Communications, designed to perform in high risk environments where communication is essential to firefighter safety.

Used by breathing apparatus wearers operating in zero visibility, high temperature and high stress conditions, these radios support safe, coordinated and effective incident response.

Case Study

Enhanced features to improve firefighter safety

Fireground environments demand communication systems that perform under pressure. Telent’s solution, built on Tait Communications technology, is designed to address the key operational challenges faced by fire and rescue services.

Tick

Optimised audio for breathing apparatus

Designed to work with leading breathing apparatus systems, the solution retains noise suppression capabilities while improving clarity and volume of speech in digital mode.

Tick

Extended communication range

A high power digital transmitter increases operational range, enabling reliable communication across both short and extended distances within incident areas.

Tick

Clear and confident operation

An audible Push To Talk tone confirms when users should begin speaking, improving usability and supporting confident communication in high pressure environments.

Tick

Glove friendly design

Large, easy to operate buttons and accessories allow firefighters to use radios effectively while wearing protective gloves.

Tick

Individual user devices

Radios can operate in close proximity without interference, allowing each firefighter to be issued with their own device. This removes the need for sharing radios and enhances safety accountability.

Tick

Scalable coverage

Portable repeaters can be deployed on demand to extend coverage across challenging environments such as high rise buildings or complex structures.

Tick

Integrated communications

Fireground radios can be integrated with Incident Command Units, enabling connectivity with 4G/LTE, Wi Fi and Bluetooth for greater flexibility, mobility and operational efficiency.
