Telent’s Asset Management team – responsible for the maintenance and support of assets in critical and transport networks – has been recognised by the National Security Inspectorate (NSI) and awarded a hallmark of excellence as providers of security systems.
The certification - the National Approval Council for Security Systems (NACOSS) Gold -recognises the team’s contribution, knowledge, and expertise in the CCTV and Electronic Access Control System (EACS) fields.
The National Security Inspectorate is the UK’s most highly trusted and respected UKAS-accredited certification body in the security and fire safety sectors.
The award reinforces Telent’s position as experts in the field and strengthens its position for future tenders for CCTV and EACS contracts where NSI is a requirement. The award also tells both existing and future clients that Telent is technically competent, working to International and British Standards and NSI Codes of Practice.
Mike Harten, Head of Operations (Rail), said: “I’m thrilled Telent’s Asset Management team has been accredited and recognised at an international industry level. The recognition demonstrates the ongoing and dedicated commitment of the team and Telent’s wider approach to safety for our clients.
“While this is a fantastic achievement, we’re already thinking about the next step and hope to obtain Intruder Alarm certification.”
To successfully obtain the accreditation, the team, led by Martin Wright, Area Operations Manager, worked with NSI to conduct a series of audits assessing Telent’s Quality Management System and associated processes, and the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance (corrective and planned) of CCTV and EACS works.
A gold approval in operating a Quality Management System to ISO 9001 and NSI Quality Schedules demonstrates that Telent is led by experienced technically relevant teams who are trusted, reputable leaders with applicable business knowledge and effective employee security screening.
The NSI is a not-for-profit organisation helping to protect homeowners, businesses, the public sector, and the general public. Its mission is to secure the highest standards of safety and security for buyers of commercial and domestic fire and security systems, guarding and security services, through independent third-party audit and certification in the UK and Eire.
