“We are delighted to have been recognised at The Strategy Networks Alliance Public Sector Awards for the wireless transformation project we delivered to University of Oxford. It is vital that students and staff have access to the most secure and high performance network connectivity to enhance both academic life and research projects. We are proud to have been involved in multiple network transformations in higher education and across the public sector, providing best of breed solutions that are the foundations for digital transformation projects.”

As one of the world’s most prestigious universities and with buildings dating back to the 11th century, the University of Oxford needed a wireless network technology refresh across multiple central admin buildings and libraries including the Bodleian.

Telent was selected as a partner for the University of Oxford to deliver an infrastructure upgrade that could support higher bandwidth requirements and improve network redundancy. Telent successfully designed and implemented a comprehensive solution to enhance the performance and reliability of the data network and other vital systems. This included the deployment of 1,800 access points across the campus, using Juniper Networks’ Mist solution.

As a result of Telent’s work, University of Oxford is now safer, more secure and more connected than ever before, with reliable networking infrastructure that serves as a foundation to support future growth and development.
