The new membership gives Telent a platform to share its insights as well as promote its technology services within the further education and higher education sectors
Promoting information systems and technology within the education sector is to be key initiative for leading UK technology and network services company, Telent Technology Services Ltd (Telent), as it announces it has successfully become a member of the collaborative body, Universities and Colleges Information Systems Association (UCISA)
UCISA draws together and enhances the collective and individual expertise of the IT professionals leading and supporting digital transformation and services in education across the UK. The impartial and representative membership aims to inform, promote and foster the expertise of its members that underpins technology use in educational institutions to deliver an excellent student experience and operational efficiency.
The association, which is made up of 129 corporate members and more than 200 education establishments, is a hub to share best practice, maximise cost effectiveness, develop ideas and informs and supports policy making within education institutions, nationally and internationally.
“Information technology has become an absolute necessity in universities, colleges and schools across the country - I would even suggest it is a fundamental infrastructure which both enables and enhances students’ educational experiences,” said Peter Moir, Managing Director, Network Services at Telent. “We have always been at the forefront of delivering effective and efficient technology, and this is shown by the hugely diverse range of sectors we operate in. Being a part of UCISA will increase the awareness of our offerings, but also allow us to work collaboratively with others to make informed decisions on technology use in education.”
Telent decided to make a bid for UCISA membership based on their success and strength in working within many other parts of the public sector. The commitment and drive that Telent bring to managing large and diverse technology projects, mean that their membership can only benefit the UCISA Community.
Peter Moir added: “We couldn’t be more thrilled to be entering the education sector in such a committed way. We are now at the forefront of promoting excellence in the application of information systems and services in support of teaching, learning, research and administration in higher and further education. We cannot wait to get started sharing our insights, thoughts, and recommendations with this group and its members.”
Telent will be attending the UCISA 19 Leadership Conference taking place in Edinburgh during March 2019 – which will be a chance for it to highlight growing challenges surrounding technology as well as an opportunity for Telent representatives to meet and network with other companies delivering IT services to education establishments.
