One year on from the first device donation through a partnership with the Good Things Foundation, Telent has now donated 1,235 devices through five collections from its Warwick site. This ongoing collaboration is helping tackle digital exclusion across the UK by putting refurbished devices into the hands of those who need them most.
The partnership also supports Telent’s wider sustainability goals by extending the lifespan of valuable technology. By prioritising reuse and refurbishment, the company is reducing waste, recovering value from equipment that might otherwise be discarded, and contributing to a more circular approach to technology. This work has been made possible through close collaboration across teams, including Procurement and IT, alongside external partners.
The programme’s impact report highlights the progress to date and the difference the partnership is making. It shows that 1,235 devices were collected, securely data-wiped and processed at no cost to Telent, with 86.1 per cent given a second life. The report also outlines the environmental and social value created, including carbon savings, reduced e-waste, and more devices entering the National Device Bank redistribution pipeline.
Most importantly, these donations are helping people and communities stay connected. Access to a suitable device can play a vital role in applying for jobs, accessing essential services, building digital skills and maintaining contact with support networks. Through the Good Things Foundation, Telent’s devices are helping bridge this gap.
The full impact report explores the partnership in more detail, covering key milestones, reuse rates and real-world examples of how donated devices are making a difference.
I’m proud to see the impact captured in this report. Behind the data are real people, communities and outcomes that make a meaningful difference. It shows how, by working together across Telent and with our partners, we are embedding social and environmental value into everything we do.
