Telent launches new private cloud platform for mission-critical applications

Telent provides mission-critical networks for high-profile customers in the public and private sectors. To meet customer demands and future-proof its environment, Telent has built its own software-defined private cloud, based on HPE Synergy composable infrastructure and HPE 3PAR StoreServ Storage.

Decision to increase managed services

With around 2,500 employees across 27 locations in the UK, Telent is a leading technology company providing mission‑critical communication networks and services to many large and crucial organizations in the UK and Ireland. Every time you make a call; use the internet; travel by road, rail, bus, or tube; or even when you dial the emergency services, the chances are that Telent-enabled technology is making it happen.

Telent’s customers include vital services such as fire, ambulance, and lifeboat, so its technology platforms must be stable and trustworthy. They should also be flexible and agile to accommodate business growth and changing client needs.

In addition, the company wanted to grow its managed services. Therefore, Telent decided to build a private cloud that was specific to the specialist requirements of its critical national infrastructure customers and within the security of its own data center.

“A progressive shift towards cloud services is something that our customers have been wanting. Our previous services have been enhanced by building our own cloud platform, based on HPE technology.”

– Joe Pincus, business development director, Telent
