Telent to show range of solutions for Emergency Services at BAPCO 2019

Tuesday, March 12 and Wednesday, March 13

Ricoh Arena, Coventry

At the BAPCO Annual Conference & Exhibition in Coventry from March 12-13, Telent will show delegates a range of technology solutions to support the Blue Light Services. From vehicle installations to control room upgrades to a complete managed service covering all aspects of ICT requirements.

In today’s world, digitalisation is all around us. It’s ever-moving, ever-changing and is driving our personal and professional lives and influencing our behaviour. This change directly effects our Blue Light services.

The digital policing environment, for example, still exists as individual systems, and they have limited communication between each other. Yet, there has been a massive increase in the amount of digital evidence such as body worn camera footage, CCTV and other digital assets. The rate of change of digitalisation has been so rapid that systems have historically struggled to keep up. However, it needn’t be this way.

Solution showcase

Digital evidence management solutions from Telent provide a single point of access for digital assets including CCTV, mobile data, videos, photographs, and body-worn camera footage. This will be among the technologies exhibited, highlighting how police forces can save valuable time, money and use digital evidence more effectively.

Telent’s solution has been developed in conjunction with UK Police users, specifically for the UK Policing and Criminal Justice environment. It is not just the police that Telent is helping to adopt the digital arena. Fire and Rescue, as well as Ambulance services, are facing increasing pressure to move with the times With the rise of the general public capturing incidents on mobile devices, it provides benefits in terms of real time information and investigative opportunities but brings the challenge of managing massive volumes of data.

The Home Office’s new Emergency Services Network (ESN) is understandably the topic of the moment. The 4G/LTE network will replace the current TETRA radio network, providing all blue light services with a cheaper, faster and more sophisticated communications system.

Telent are providing the Home Office’s ESN Assure Services. To ensure a smooth transition, Telent can assist Blue Light services with Vehicle installations, control roomupgrades and extending the life of their existing Airwave devices.
