Telent is pleased to announce that it will be the Platinum Partner for this year’s prestigious APD Control Room Awards, which will be taking place virtually on 14th May. The event, hosted by APD Communications celebrates inspirational control room individuals and teams across the emergency services sector, who go above and beyond every day to help keep the public safe and protected.
The awards will recognise and celebrate outstanding achievement, bravery and commitment across control rooms, from the police, fire, and ambulance to the aviation and transportation sectors. This past year has been more challenging than ever for all members of the control room community, due to the Coronavirus pandemic and shining a light on this will be a large focus throughout the event.
As Platinum Partner for the event and sponsors of the Young Achiever of the Year Award, Telent will continue to support the awards for a fourth year running. The Young Achiever award recognises and honours the success of young people up to the age of 30, or who are young in service, working in a control room environment.
Deserved recognition
Telent’s Sales Director Shani Latif said: “Telent has been a proud sponsor of the APD Control Room Awards since it began in 2017 and we are looking forward to being involved once again in such a prestigious event, giving the unsung heroes around the United Kingdom the recognition they deserve. 2020 has been a year like no other, and control room individuals and teams have continued to raise the bar and play their pivotal roles in keeping the public safe.”
Shani will be picking up the mantle from Telent’s Operations and Services Director Barry Zielinski on the judging panel this year. Joining Telent in 2018, Shani has been responsible for all sales, including into the Emergency Services sector, within Telent’s Network Services division since 2019.
“I am delighted and honoured to be joining the judging panel for this year’s awards ceremony and to be involved in the celebration of the fantastic work of such inspirational people,” Shani continued.
