Driving the Future: Telent Showcases Data-Powered Solutions at Highways UK 2025

Telent is proud to be at the forefront of operating and digitally transforming the Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) that powers the UK’s Strategic Road Network (SRN). At Highways UK 2025 - the country’s leading highways event - Telent will present its latest data-driven innovations designed to enhance road network performance.

Join us at the NEC Birmingham on 15th – 16th October 2025 for engaging discussions on improving the security, reliability, resilience, and availability of OT and communications infrastructure across the UK’s roads. Our experts will share forward-thinking strategies to simplify and strengthen the network, driving improvements in safety and operational efficiency across the SRN.

Telent is exhibiting at stand G21 and is proud to be Platinum Sponsor of the Digital Roads Theatre, where we’ll be hosting speaker sessions at 12 noon on both days.

Join Alec Warriner, Head of Security – Highways at Telent, in the Digital Roads Theatre on day 1, as he explores the urgent need to modernise cyber security practices across the Highways sector. He’ll share practical strategies for achieving compliance and discuss how organisations can turn regulatory pressures into opportunities to build resilience, efficiency, and trust.

On day 2, Peter Hopkinson, Operations Director at Telent, will take to the stage to share insights from Telent’s delivery of network transformation programmes for National Highways. Expect practical takeaways, real-world examples, and unexpected lessons that highlight why Telent’s approach to digital infrastructure transformation stands out.

Andy Gifford, Director of Highways at Telent

“We’re proud to be both exhibiting and sponsoring Highways UK 2025 — the sector’s leading event. It’s a fantastic opportunity to showcase how Telent is helping to transform and operate national digital infrastructure. Our platform-based solutions, including IP connectivity and digital CCTV, are laying the foundation for more reliable, technology driven, highways. We look forward to sharing how these innovations are already improving network performance and resilience.”

Earlier this year, National Highways awarded Telent a further contract extension to continue operating the digital connectivity network for the Strategic Road Network (SRN) until 2028. This marks the second extension granted to Telent for managing and operating digital technology services under the National Roads Telecommunications Service (NRTS). This extension ensures ongoing innovation and reliability, helping to minimise network downtime and reduce disruption for road users.

Telent also recently announced the successful completion of the nationwide rollout of Corporate Wide Area Network services for National Highways, connecting over 124 strategic sites across the UK in just three months - a significant milestone in the modernisation of the organisation’s digital infrastructure.

As the Service Provider for (NRTS), Telent also supported the successful rollout of new emergency areas across the motorway network, delivering the essential technology behind this infrastructure upgrade. This was a massive collaborative effort across the SMP Alliance, and the Telent team are proud to have been part of ensuring its success.

Nigel Weldon, Business Development Director at Telent
