Telent to focus on protecting the public and increasing efficiency at BAPCO 2020

Industries across the globe are embracing the numerous benefits that technology can bring – and the Public Safety sector is no different. The increased efficiency that digital transformation can bring allows emergency services to concentrate on their lifesaving work and protecting the public. But with each emergency service having different requirements and preferences, selecting, installing and maintaining the right ICT services can be daunting. This is where a trusted partner with the proven credentials of Telent can deliver supplementary or complementary services in line with an organisation’s in-house team to accelerate their technology transformation projects.

With its vast experience of managing critical national infrastructure across the UK, Telent takes on this role and is seen as a trusted ICT partner by its customers. Whether providing mission critical support, improving communication and safety for firefighters or protecting public venues from drone attacks, Telent is on-hand to provide the latest technology available.

At BAPCO 2020, the company will discuss its advancements in ICT Managed Services, Drone Threat Management, Resource Mobilisation, Fire Ground Communications, and ESN services for both coverage assurance and vehicle installations & connectivity.

Flexible and scalable
At Telent, we pride ourselves on recognising and overcoming challenges to create optimum efficiency and value no matter the industry. In the Public Safety sector, this means communicating and building strong relationships directly with the customer to understand their needs and the best way to achieve them.

At BAPCO, we will showcase our catalogue of ICT Managed Services, which offer a number of benefits and efficiency to the Public Safety sector. We will also discuss how we can tailor deployments to specific customer requirements, from a single service package through to an entire digital transformation project, with Merseyside Fire & Rescue Authority (MFRA) providing just one great example of our capabilities in this area.

On Wednesday, March 11 at 10.15am, Barry Zielinski, Telent's Operations and Services Director, will present on this topic and describe how our work with MFRA has evolved and transformed over the past 18 years, as well as give an overview of the benefits of ICT solutions being provided as a managed service.

Innovative technologies
Visitors to our stand at BAPCO will also be able to hear details of Telent's Resource Mobilisation solution, which has been deployed in multiple fire services to ensure resources and fire appliances are deployed as quickly as possible and to alert retained firefighters effectively and efficiently.

We will also be showing the Fireground Radio Solution, designed by our long-term partner Tait Communications, which has been developed in conjunction with East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service to improve voice and audio quality and ease of use. This ensures better communication for firefighters during incidents, making their operations safer and more efficient.

Tait Communications will join Telent for a presentation on Wednesday March 11 at 2.30pm to give further insight into this recent project which is poised to transform firefighting operations across the UK.

Overcoming new challenges
Alongside our emergency services work, our Head of Wireless Paul Hicks will discuss our new Drone Threat Management Solution, which has been developed in response to the rising threat of drone usage at airports and other critical locations. The solution is unique in its ability to provide relevant airport authorities with accurate and detailed information on the type of drone they are dealing with. During his presentation on Wednesday, March 11 at 11.30am, Hicks will discuss the benefits it can bring to businesses at risk of unauthorised drone usage.

We will also showcase our coverage assurance testing services we provide to the Home Office’s Emergency Service Network (ESN) programme in addition to our vehicle connectivity and Installation services to implement new ESN compatible devices, as well as support current technology devices.
