Telent's Highways business successfully completes 2026 PAS 2080:2023 Surveillance Audit

Telent’s Highways business is pleased to announce the successful completion of its 2026 surveillance audit for PAS 2080:2023, certified as both Designer and Constructor. This marks a significant milestone in our first full year since achieving certification in 2025 and further reinforces our commitment to responsible, sustainable delivery across the highways sector.

The audit provided a comprehensive review of Telent’s approach to carbon management across Highways, assessing areas including carbon management processes, procurement, collaboration, design, maintenance and continual improvement. Importantly, no areas for improvement were identified, demonstrating the strength, maturity and consistency of our processes.

Recognising Best Practice

The audit highlighted several areas of strong progress, particularly in how carbon reduction is being driven across our supply chain. The ESG Procurement team was commended for its supplier carbon analysis and climate‑aligned supplier strategy, reflecting a structured and proactive approach to supplier engagement.

Auditors also praised the bespoke PAS 2080 training module developed jointly by the Highways Environment & Sustainability and Training teams, recognising its clarity, relevance and contribution to upskilling teams across the business. Additionally, the level of detail and rigour demonstrated in the Highways carbon opportunity register and action plan was singled out as an example of effective, forward‑looking carbon management.

Collectively, these achievements demonstrate the progress being made to embed carbon‑conscious thinking across project delivery and supply chain activity - supporting Telent’s wider commitment to achieving Net Zero by 2050.

What PAS 2080 means for Telent

PAS 2080 is a leading industry standard that supports organisations in managing and reducing carbon across the full lifecycle of infrastructure projects. It provides a clear and structured framework to embed low‑carbon thinking into decision‑making processes.

For Telent’s Highways business, adopting and maintaining PAS 2080:2023 certification enhances transparency in carbon reporting, encourages earlier and more effective collaboration with partners, and helps us identify innovative low‑carbon solutions.

It also ensures we remain aligned with National Highways’ Net Zero Plan, which required all large and medium tier 1 and 2 suppliers to achieve certification by the end of 2025.
