Telent’s Driver Safety team recognised at industry awards

Telent is delighted to announce its Driver Safety team has been recognised at the Fleet News Awards.

At the Grosvenor Hotel in London, and with an audience of more than 1,300 industry guests, Telent’s Fleet team were announced as the winners in the ‘Wellbeing and Inclusivity in Fleet’ category.

Miranda Faulconbridge, Head of Driver Safety was presented with the award on behalf of the team by BBC News host Huw Edwards.

After successfully reaching the shortlist, the Telent fought off tough competition from Anglian Water, Connells Group, Mitie and Speedy Asset Services to take home the prestigious win in this category.

The ‘Wellbeing and Inclusivity in Fleet’ award recognises those businesses that are looking after their drivers in the best possible way by being an inclusive employer that priorities the mental health and wellbeing of their people.

Telent’s nomination highlighted its commitment to protecting the health, safety and wellbeing of all colleagues by providing a healthy working environment and promoting a culture where wellbeing is embraced by all.

In particular, the nomination reflects Telent’s wider Wellbeing Policy through the resources available to all colleagues and dedicated training for leaders, and more specifically the efforts made in the Fleet team to support those driving on business for Telent through the introduction of support systems such as Webfleet.

It also referenced the teams ongoing work to continually improve gender equality, not just within Telent but in the wider industry through its partnerships with Transport for London’s Women into Transportation and Engineering initiative and the Young Rail Professionals, and its support for the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Charter’ launched by Women in Rail.
