To ensure resiliency of these vital systems, many solutions include secondary or back-up bearers based on traditional PSTN technology that is set to be withdrawn from service at the end of 2026.

Telent have developed and deployed for multiple Fire and Rescue Services, a PSTN replacement solution based on Ericsson wireless router technology that uses 4G mobile network services to provide the secondary bearer.
