Telent pledges fundraising and awareness efforts to mental health charity Mind
Telent has partnered with the mental health charity Mind, pledging its 2022-2024 fundraising campaign to the charity and continuing its commitment to supporting and raising awareness of mental health issues.
Mind provides mental health support to people across England and Wales. This includes campaigning to change the mental health system, delivering services through a network of local Minds and raising awareness and public understanding of mental health problems.
For those living with a mental health problem, having access to the right support and information is vital. We hope that the money we raise goes some way in supporting Mind’s incredible work and that our awareness efforts help to let more people know about the help that is available through the charity.
"Mind provides the resources that are essential to ensuring this, and we are proud to have them as a Charity partner. To raise awareness of mental health problems and to help support them in their fundraising efforts.”
One example of the fundraising efforts planned is Telent’s Learning and Development Manager, Laura Bentley taking part in the London Marathon for Mind on October 2nd 2022 to raise money for the charity.
“I’m delighted (and equal parts daunted) to be running the London Marathon this year. Mind is a wonderful charity and the resources and support they provide are invaluable. On a personal note, I’m so happy to be supporting a mental health charity as I’m an advocate for mental wellbeing and have also been on my own mental health journey (as many of us have) over the past two years. “
Mind also provides professional training in workplaces and campaigns on a range of issues that could affect anyone with a mental health problem, such as protection of legal rights, and employment.
Past fundraising activities completed by Telent include sponsored walks, runs and cycles across the UK.
Telent’s previous chosen charity was The Alzheimer’s Society, for which the company raised £185,000 between 2019 and 2021.
Fundraising included a run, walk, and cycle of more than 53 marathons in an effort to spell out ‘Telent4Alzheimers’ across the United Kingdom. In 2021, Team Telent extended its ‘Let’s go to Tokyo’ charity walk for Alzheimer’s to an ‘around the world’ challenge after reaching the original target two months early.
