Telent will return to Utility Week Live this May, exhibiting alongside parent company M Group highlighting how the two organisations are helping utilities modernise ageing assets and accelerate digital transformation via a combination of IoT monitoring applications and a secure-by-design approach to Cyber Security.
As Europe’s largest pan‑utility event, Utility Week Live brings together leaders from across the sector to explore the innovations shaping future operations.
Telent will demonstrate how their approach to intelligent infrastructure can transform visibility and performance across energy networks, treatment works and distributed assets in the water sector. The team will be discussing IoT‑enabled solutions that turn sensor data into real‑time operational insight that can be used to facilitate pro-active maintenance activity, reducing outages and extending asset life-cycles.
This innovative approach to monitoring has been combined with Telent’s expertise in edge computing, networking and remote power solutions to create a fully self-contained solution for continuous water quality monitoring. The ruggedised solution has been developed to address the requirements of Section.82 of the Environment Act 2021, requiring sewerage undertakers to continuously monitor the quality of water upstream and downstream of their assets. Telent’s solution can be deployed in remote and off-grid locations, with provision for solar power and wireless connectivity via 4G/5G or low earth orbit satellite.
With decades of engineering heritage and deep experience delivering communications and control systems for complex environments, including major programmes at Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C, Telent will showcase its role in strengthening safety, security and asset reliability across the UK nuclear sector. This includes advanced monitoring, secure OT/IT networks, NOC and SOC support, and specialist field engineering for both new facilities and legacy life‑extension projects.
