Telent Appoints New CFO

Telent, which installs and manages much of the UK’s and Ireland’s critical infrastructure, is sad to announce that its long-standing Finance Director, John Kimpton, will be stepping down at the end of December for health reasons. He will be replaced by Gillian Bonthron, who has more than 25 years of experience in finance, including at Mitie, KPMG, Smiths News and Healx.

Gillian joins as Chief Financial Officer of Telent Technology Services Limited, the operating company for Telent in the UK and Ireland, on 30 September, ensuring a smooth handover .

John has worked for Telent and its predecessor business for over 30 years. He joined GEC in 1991, initially in its Defence operations before becoming Financial Director for the Marconi Value Added Service business in 2001, which formed the core of Telent in 2006.

Gillian Bonthron joined KPMG in 1999 and spent 10 years with the accounting firm in the UK and Germany. She has since held senior finance roles at Smiths News, Mitie Group and Healx.

Heather Green remains in the role of Chief Financial Officer of the overall holding company, Telent Limited, which she has held since September 2006.
