“It is vital for our company is to keep both our workers and other road users and pedestrians safe when we’re travelling across the country,” said Jo Gretton, Chief Executive Officer at Telent. “We recognise that driving is a key occupational risk and one that we take very seriously across the organisation, which is why we’re committed to the Driver Safety Group. It’s also why this recognition means so much to us as a company, as we feel it is a true reflection of the diligence and care taken by our drivers”.
Telent has been awarded the prestigious RoSPA Gold Fleet Safety Award for the management of occupational road risk for another year.
The award recognises the company’s practices and procedures to help keep its staff safe on the road and get home safely at the end of the working day. Key to Telent’s fleet safety is its Driver Safety Group, which identifies and implements best practices across the business.
Telent established the Driver Safety Group in 2013 which brings together company-wide representatives to identify the risks our drivers face on the road. It encourages everyone to be mindful when using the road and seeks solutions to reduce risks associated with road travel.
It ensures that best practices are in place across the business for drivers and employees, and that they have the knowledge and training to use the roads safely.
This is the third award received by Telent in as many years entering the programme, following recognitions in 2019 and 2020.
The RoSPA Health and Safety Awards are internationally renowned as the longest-running industry awards scheme in the UK. It receives entries from organisations around the world and recognises the achievements in health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.
