Telent to showcase IoT monitoring solutions at Utility Week Live

Visit us at stand J60

For the first time as an exhibitor Telent will join this year’s Utility Week Live, taking place on 20th and 21st May at the NEC Birmingham. As Europe's only pan-utility exhibition, the event is now in its tenth year and is expected to attract 3,500 industry professionals focused on the headline theme, ‘Lead the Change’.

As experts in critical national infrastructure and major digital transformation projects, Telent bring together experience across multiple technology disciplines to bridge information technology and operational technology within utilities applications. Enabling smarter, more efficient technology infrastructure for utilities that can adapt and support the changing demands and challenges of the industry.

On stand J60 Telent will present a suite of IoT monitoring solutions with multiple use cases across different aspects of utilities infrastructure. These applications are supported by networking and communication capability that combines wired, wireless, SD-WAN and private 5G technologies. All of which are delivered by a UK wide field-based engineering team with capabilities across multiple technologies and underpinned by a dedicated cyber security team.

At Utility Week Live, Telent’s Chief Technology Officer Gerard Donohue will take part in the round table discussion “Keeping a step ahead of service disruption” taking place on the Customer, Culture and Workforce stage at 12:40 on 21 May. The round table will discuss practical insights to minimise customer dissatisfaction when responding to unforeseen disruption and planned asset management. Gerard will share insights from Telent’s experience within the rail industry in a presentation: Predicting preventative maintenance and reducing outages through remote infrastructure monitoring and IoT.

Telent’s experience with utilities includes the nuclear sector, where it was chosen by EDF Energy to provide a complete IT and communications design & build package at Hinkley Point C, the UK’s first nuclear plant to be built in over 25 years. Under the agreement, Telent will design, install and commission the communications and IT system for the new power station. This will include a dual data centre infrastructure and both wireless and wired communications networks to connect approximately 150 buildings. This network infrastructure will support a unified communications and messaging platform. It will also provide a multi-service on-site radio network, including integration with the Emergency Services Network (ESN), CCTV, Public Address and Voice Alarm system, Integrated Command and Communications System and Site-wide TV Distribution.
