Annual charity golf day raises fantastic amount for Mind.
Telent colleagues, clients and suppliers took part in its Annual Charity Golf Day at Lambourne Golf Club, Burnham on Thursday 8 September 2022.
As is tradition the event was held in support of Telent’s nominated charity partner, which this year (the first year of three) is Mind, the mental health charity. The event surpassed all fundraising expectations with a huge £74,600 raised for Mind.
A significant amount of money was raised on the 17th tee as our golf teams stopped to buy a glass of champagne, buy tickets for the lucky dip and enter the silent auction. The evening auction was a tremendous success (and certainly not silent!) thanks to the auctioneering talents of Kyran Bracken MBE, a world-cup winning former rugby union player (and Dancing on Ice Champion of Champions!).
The Lambourne is a stunning course and the competitive spirit of the 20 teams in the Stableford competition was undiminished by the consistently torrential rain for most of the afternoon. With thunder rolling in over the course and no let-up in the rain the decision was taken to stop play after approximately 12 holes.
It’s amazing that so many of our suppliers and customers gave so generously with their time and money to support our fundraiser and Telent’s charity partner Mind. Despite the weather there was some fabulous golf played. Many congratulations to the Access Hire team who won the team competition and to N Tovey from CHH who won the individual competition.
"This is a fantastic sum raised from our annual charity golf fundraiser and a fantastic achievement for Mind. I have no doubt the money raised will help so many people struggling with their mental health. I’m delighted Telent could be a part of that. Well done and thank you to everyone involved.
"Firstly, I just want to say a massive thank you to Telent. It was an amazing day, and we all had a great time. It was lovely to see how receptive everyone was to the cause and how generously people donated. The £74,600 figure is phenomenal and will have a huge impact for everyone that Mind supports and will allow us to reach even more people – especially during this difficult time.
