Telent retains contract to maintain Oxfordshire County Council’s traffic signals network

Award of new three-year contract will enhance traffic safety and maintain efficient management throughout the county.

Telent, the UK’s leading critical infrastructure technology provider, has been reappointed to maintain Oxfordshire County Council’s traffic signals and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) estate, after its contract to carry out traffic signal maintenance was renewed.

First awarded in 2017, Telent has secured a new contract that will run until 2028, reinforcing Telent’s long-standing partnership with the council to enhance traffic management and road safety across the region.

Under this extended agreement, Telent will continue to design and develop Oxfordshire’s traffic systems network. Telent will provide ongoing maintenance, supply, and installation of essential traffic signal equipment, ensuring that key routes across the county operate smoothly and efficiently limiting disruption to the roads.

Telent will continue to deploy a range of on-street ITS across key locations within the county. These advanced systems will not only help optimise traffic flow but also enhance road safety by improving signal reliability, reducing congestion, and supporting better journey planning for motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians.
