Mission-critical infrastructure specialist Telent, reaches a one-year milestone with the Rail Safe Friendly programme (RSF), spreading awareness to children about the importance of safety on the country’s railways.
Since its launch, Telent’s involvement with the project has so far engaged with 149 schools to promote the importance of rail safety awareness. The course delivers Network Rail’s video safety content directly to schools to ensure every child is equipped with the essential knowledge to navigate the railway environment safely. To date, the content has reached a total of 80,859 views.
The Rail Safe Friendly programme, launched by Learn Live, teaches young people about the dangers of trespassing on Britain’s railways to raise awareness, save lives and prevent accidents.
Following significant engagement and social value contribution, Telent will be renewing the partnership for a further twelve months with goals to make an even greater impact in spreading the message of rail safety.
To date, Rail Safe Friendly has over 10,000 schools on board with the programme across the UK.
"The country’s rail network is a vital and impressive infrastructure network that is essential to our everyday lives. Over the past twelve months, we have witnessed firsthand the impact initiatives like Learn Live have had in providing valuable insights to young people and communities on the importance of being rail safe. As a company closely linked to the rail network’s operations and maintenance, we are proud of the programme’s success and the meaningful message it spreads.”
Stuart Heaton, Managing Director of Learn Live, and founder of the Rail Safe Friendly programme
“The railway environment is a dangerous place, and it is through the support of the rail industry and companies like Telent that we are able to provide vital rail safety education to young people. We are thrilled that Telent is renewing its contract with us as their continued support will enable us to make a meaningful impact in ensuring rail safety education is accessible to as many schools as possible”
