Telent awarded maintenance contract to manage and maintain customer information systems across GTR network

Telent secures new maintenance contract with GTR to improve passenger experience including CCTV, Passenger Help Points, and alarm systems

Telent has been appointed by Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) to maintain CCTV systems and ticket office intruder alarms across the Thameslink and Great Northern estate, and Passenger Help Point (PHP) services across the GTR southern stations.

As part of the asset management contract, the team at Telent will provide necessary improvements to key GTR information systems, supporting passengers travelling from locations such as Brighton, Kings Lynn, Bedford, London Victoria, and London Bridge.

Telent will maintain PHP, intruder alarm, and CCTV assets across 240 stations within the GTR estate. This will include implementation of an effective planned preventative maintenance schedule and a reactive maintenance service to respond to any faults in a timely manner, minimising downtime and disruption to passengers.

Mike Harten, Director of Transport Communications Systems and Services at Telent

“We are proud to continue our long-term partnership with GTR, delivering solutions that enhance rail passenger experiences. Our work will ensure improved reliability and reduced downtime, increasing safety and ensuring that vital rail assets remain operational when passengers need them most. At Telent, our expertise in maintaining asset uptime means fewer disruptions, lowering costs and effort for both operators and customers. By keeping systems running efficiently, we are helping to provide better information, greater support, and a smoother journey for all passengers across the GTR network.”

David Clark, Senior Contract Manager at GTR

"Telent’s expertise and dedication to our ongoing partnership has been critical in enhancing passenger experiences so far. Having successfully collaborated on an ongoing contract, this new maintenance contract brings together our partnership, streamlining our approach to improving communications across the entire GTR network.”

As part of Telent’s ongoing dedication to the rail sector, the team now maintains assets across over 60% of England’s rail network. This maintenance contract supports the continued growth of the Transport Comms Systems & Services (TCSS) business area and is set to commence in April this year.
