Telent has secured a new multi-year maintenance contract with South Western Railway (SWR), building on a relationship of more than 15 years that supports critical passenger systems across SWR’s network
Under the renewed agreement, Telent will continue to deliver preventative and reactive maintenance services for SWR’s Station Information and Security Systems (SISS), covering 186 stations and 13 depot locations. These services include maintenance of CCTV, Public Address and Voice Alarm (PAVA), Passenger Help Points (PHP), body-worn CCTV, staff information screens, dynamic screens, clocks and dispatch CCTV, all essential for station operations and passenger communications.
Telent’s work ensures that these assets remain operational, accessible and reliable every day across one of the UK’s busiest rail networks. The contract also incorporates the use of software tools, including SolarWinds® and Telent’s CCTV assurance platform - Arbitex, which support proactive monitoring, asset assurance and efficient fault resolution.
This maintenance helps ensure systems remain fully operational - from clear announcements and responsive help points to accurate travel information when it matters most. For passengers, that translates into smooth journeys and confidence while travelling.
We’re proud to extend our partnership with SWR, maintaining the station systems that support passenger information, safety and service delivery. Over the years, we’ve developed a transparent, solutions-focused way of working built on openness and shared accountability. This renewal reflects our ongoing commitment to keeping rail communications and security systems working for passengers and staff.
"Our customers and teams rely on real-time information and secure, functioning station systems every day. The continuity provided by Telent’s long-term support helps us keep systems running and deliver a dependable experience for customers across the network
"Beyond core maintenance, Telent has worked closely with SWR over many years to enhance system performance and support upgrade projects, including CCTV refreshes and customer information system improvements. At the same time, Telent has adapted its maintenance approach to reflect SWR’s evolving operational priorities, helping strengthen long-term reliability across the estate.
The renewed contract underscores Telent’s position as a trusted provider of critical rail infrastructure services and its contribution to smoother, more reliable journeys for rail passengers across the South Western Railway network
