Using AI for CCTV optical analytics

This case study explores how the innovative use of Arbitex, using AI in CCTV to enhance and support Telent’s carbon reduction goals minimises emissions related to site visits and travel.

Designed for ease of use, the Arbitex system enables one-person camera setup via a smart device, making installation and maintenance more straightforward than ever. Compatible with both digital and analogue video systems, it guarantees clear and consistent CCTV images, significantly improving the efficiency and assurance of CCTV maintenance.

The system remotely monitors camera views, sending automatic misalignment notifications to Telent, which reduces the need for constant site visits and minimises downtime. Images are digitally checked against alignment points, and an AI engine processes these images, alerting if points don't align or the view is blank. The Arbitex output screen directs the team to corrective maintenance, optimising resources and improving first-time fix rates.

Environmental benefits

The system's remote monitoring and automatic misalignment notifications significantly reduce the need for on-site maintenance visits, leading to fewer vehicle trips. This reduction in travel lowers carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions and fuel consumption, contributing to a smaller carbon footprint and less air pollution. Additionally, the AI-driven diagnostics optimise resource allocation, minimising waste and enhancing overall operational efficiency, which further supports environmental sustainability.

These benefits collectively contribute to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly approach to CCTV monitoring and optical assurance.

Telent estimates that by using this advanced AI-driven CCTV monitoring system, we can achieve a reduction of over 40 tonnes of CO₂ emissions.

"By leveraging the advanced capabilities of Arbitex's AI-driven CCTV monitoring system, we’re not only enhancing the reliability and efficiency of today's surveillance operations but also setting the stage for a future where intelligent technology drives sustainability and environmental stewardship. This innovation reduces maintenance costs and carbon emissions, paving the way for a smarter, greener, and more connected world."
