The session was chaired by Dave Marsh, CEO at TTC Group, a leading UK-based training and compliance organisation specialising in people risk management. Telent's partnership with TTC encompasses driving licence checks, driver risk management, and eLearning training.
Miranda's participation underscored Telent's commitment to road safety and as part of a select panel of professionals who have successfully implemented best practice strategies to reduce incidents and manage road risk. This platform allowed Telent to showcase its effective initiatives in keeping colleagues safe while driving for work.
The Health and Safety Event took place from 8-10 April where Miranda Faulconbridge, Head of Driver Safety at Telent, participated on the first day of the event in the Driver Safety Theatre, hosted by National Highways Driving for Better Business (DfBB) team.
Miranda was among the distinguished panel members including Jeremy Hubbard, Senior Motor Consultant, UK Risk Control and Engineering at AON and Gary Rigby, Group Head of Fleet Compliance at Kier who all shared their extensive knowledge and expertise on road safety. The seminar aimed to address a critical question for employers: "Are you or the business you work for meeting your duty of care to your workplace drivers?". This discussion is particularly relevant given that one in three road traffic accidents involves someone driving for work.
The seminar emphasised driver risk management, exploring both preventative and reactive strategies to drive positive change. Key topics included fostering a safety-first culture, securing driver engagement, achieving board buy-in, and realising business benefits beyond maintaining a safe and compliant driving workforce.
