Announcement from David Naylor-Leyland, Chairman of Telent

The Board and Shareholders of Telent are united in their sadness over the sudden death of the Company’s CEO Mark Plato, announced last week. To many within Telent he was more than an inspirational CEO, he was a friend and mentor.

Sad as it is, the company must now plan for the future and with this in mind the Board has asked Frank McKay, a Non-Executive Director of Telent since 2011, to move into an executive role as CEO. Frank has a wealth of experience having worked all over the world for Rockwell and been CEO of Travis Perkins and Brakes.

Mark’s legacy to Telent is the ethos that he built of putting the well-being of our customers and employees at the forefront of every decision we make. I and everyone within Telent will be determined to maintain that ethos in tribute to Mark.

We are very fortunate to have a Director of Frank McKay’s experience on the Board ready to assume the CEO’s responsibilities. I would like to thank Heather Green and the rest of the executive team for the way they have ensured our work for customers has not been impacted by Mark’s untimely death, and Frank McKay for agreeing to take on the additional responsibility at this sad time.
