Oxfordshire County Council awards traffic signals contract to Telent Technology Services

Leading UK technology and network services company, Telent Technology Services Ltd (Telent), is delighted to announce that it has been awarded the contract to maintain Oxfordshire County Council’s Traffic signals network.

The five-year contract, with a possible extension of up to three additional years, will see Telent providing the efficient maintenance, supply and installation of traffic signalling equipment and also a range of on-street ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems) equipment across the County.

Telent met with Oxfordshire County Council on 9th February, the morning after the announcement, to discuss rapid mobilisation of the contract. Telent’s collaborative approach and proven ability to get up to speed were instrumental in winning the business and plans are already in place to take over the necessary works.

Business Development Director for Telent’s Traffic business, Nigel Weldon, comments: “This new win is a great achievement for Telent as the incumbent contractor had held the contract for a number of years. We’re excited and looking forward to working closely with Oxfordshire County Council to secure the consistent smooth running & improvement of their road networks in this prestigious region.”

Steve Dalton, Managing Director of Transport, Telent, also comments: “Our extensive experience in delivering responsive traffic signal maintenance will enable us to work with Oxfordshire to improve traffic flows, reduce congestion, journey times, and pollution levels throughout the County.”
