telent were asked to supply, build and install two HPE DL 380 G9 servers with preconfigured VMware vSphere with Essentials Plus licensing. The installation and configuration included provisioning of a VMware vCentre server appliance and three virtual Windows 2012 R2 servers.
Active Directory and file services were migrated to one of the newly configured Windows 2012 R2 servers from two existing physical servers. telent were also responsible for migrating customer data over from the existing file server and decommissioning the existing physical domain controller and file server.
Additionally a Synology NAS was configured and installed on the customer network and file data transferred from an existing NAS device. telent also installed and configured Arcserve UDP backup software on one of the unused and newly configured Windows 2012 R2 virtual machines. The Arcserve backup software was configured to store all of its backup data on a file share on the newly installed Synology NAS device. Symantec Anti-Virus Manager was also installed onto the new Active Directory virtual server.
